Sub advice
Sound quality, per impedance, is also negligible in car audio. Higher impedance drivers typically have better SQ (which is why a lot of home drivers are 8 ohm), but in a car environment - and even in a home theater setup - most people would never be anle to tell the difference.

I found a dealer that sells this sub with a box for $262. I plan to set up an amp specifically for the sub, and a seperate amp for the highs. Like I said, I know jack **** about the science of stereo systems. All I know is the stock Monsoon system is complete
!!
-also you said you were thinking about a separate amp for the other spks? I wasn't aware you were replacing everything, and just not the sub.
-dealer price seems a little high also....that sub ideally needs only a .5cF box - what size is the dealers? You can buy a box that size for under $30 at most places, from ED for about $50, or build your own...

The box itself is $112. With the $175 ED sub, it' s $262. I have to have the stealth design, because I refuse to forfeit my topless driving experience for music, even though I love my music!

It it is known to deliver good power and be stable at 4 ohm mono, then you would get the dual 2 ohm sub. You wire the voice coils in series (I can explain that if you want) and the amp will see the 4 ohm load you want it to see.
If you want amp ideas, the Rockford T3002 is quite cheap and puts out serious power as it's very under rated. Like 800w if you can keep the voltage up. At like 13.4V or so it's power is closer to 400-600. Being a class A/B it will have more impact than those cheap class D amps as well. Something to think about.
BTW, this amp will makes it's most power at 2 ohm mono. So in this case you would get a dual 4 ohm sub. You would wire the voice coils in parallel to create the 2 ohm load.
So you see, it depends a lot on the amp you want to use.
I'm thinking of putting one T5002 on each of my 2 subs for about 900w each. I'm curious about how loud the fan is and how you like it overall.
A little off topic, sorry.
My subs are 700w RMS and 4000w peak so they can handle anything.

What 500x2 amp is it? The T5002 or another one. I don't see a 500w x 2 amp.
Yeah, it will be twin sealed enclosures so I want some big power for them. Think 900 each is enough? I could go 1200w each, but the price jumps up quite a lot for that little extra power.
I' m not looking to compete in any sound competitions, but I do want the most out of my musical listening experience. As of right now, I just know that I want the stealth box with the Elemental Design subs, and I want to change out the stock 6½" subs for the Elemental Design ones, and power everything. I really don' t know what the **** I' m doing.

, guess I should have mentioned that, huh?
