Default What do you call the speakers next to the back seats?

The ones behind the driver and passenger seats, next to the rear seats. Mine are blown, and I can't tell which of one of these they are:

6.5" front door speakers: P/N 9361859 for left and 9361869 for right

6" DVC sail panel subs: P/N 9365799 $32.00

4" rear hatch speakers: P/N 16259011 $10.44

Are they the 6" DVC sail panel subs?

No, they're 6.5" oversized so you want either 6.5" or 6.75" replacements.

Does Kicker make those speakers? I had some in my last car and I thought they were the best for the money.

Those rears are universal really. . . . 6.5"'s are just about the most common now.

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but are those the factory speaker part numbers? If so, where do you buy them from, besides the obvious dealership?

Those are the part numbers for Firebird only.

Buy aftermarket speakers, not only will they sound better but maybe even cheaper! As far as a 6" speaker. . . its hard but i know of lots and lots of 6" midbass drivers???? If you need a 6" and no bigger. . . might wanna go with a 5.25?

Tried going that route and bought a set of Kicker 6.5" midbass subs (04SSMB6), but they didn't sound quite the way I expected. To my ears, they didn't produce the "deep" bass (and I use the term loosely) the factory subs did. I know I'm in the minority, but I prefer the sound of the factory speakers...

If you're willing to throw a decent amp on them, Adire Audio Extremis 6.4 or Ascendant Audio 6.5". They may need additional clearance, though. And stuff the enclosure with dacron (pillow stuffing, it's cheap at wal-mart) to get more bass (this trick should work with stockers as well)
