Default Glassin the T-top well, progress pics (2/25/07 update)

i decided to start my T-top glass project today and thought id share my pics













Ill have a couple more pics tonight with a couple layers of resin/glass on it

Alright 1 gallon of resin and probably half my roll of mat later here we are... 2 real nice layers of glass and probably 3-4 coats of just resin.





i hope this bitch is stiff as **** tomarow morning... or atleast good enough to pop out.

I don't think I'd pull something that large out with just 2 layers...

pretty much... The glass im using seems a lot thicker than what ive played with in the past (Stuff from HD). And after just the one layer of glass it was fairly stiff. We shall see what tomarow brings once its dry.

well checked on it this morning, it was surprising stiff with only the 2 layers.. but ive decided to add a third before i attempt to pop it out. Ill try to get some more pics later today for you guys

What's the purpose of what? 'Glassing the well in general, or adding more layers? He's building a custom sub/amp enclosure, only way to go IMO. Fiberglass is way lighter than a wood box, and it's the only way to do complex shapes. Additional layers are for strength.

Great job btw, though you may want to add some cross-bracing in the middle and maybe another layer or two on the flat spots. What's going in that thing?

look good so far. similar looking to my job in the spare tire well in my old car. i did two layers and i was fine, but it did crack when i yanked it. nothing that wouldnt be fixed with 5 more layers of glass.

I'm impressed!! Keep up the good work and keep posting pics of the progress. It's like watching DIY network for sub installs..LOL!!!! What is going in there?? You got alot of airspace for something nasty!!!!

right on the nose , im tryin to take full advantage of the space back there.

And 2 diamond audio D9 10s with a 6" aero port will be housed

and a quick update, i added the third layer and spent a good 40mins prying it out lol...





I wish i had more updates but im only gettin work done on the weekends
