LEDgauges HID conv. for TAs? Anyone?
I am seriously considering buying the HID concersion on my 00 TA. The kit that LEDgauges.com offers seems really good, but i wanted to know if anyone else has them and if you are happy with them? Are they bright? What temp. do you have? Thanx.

I just installed mine last week. I ordered the 6000k Kit and it was a cinch to install. The sealed beam conversion kit has the ballasts, H4 HID bulbs, wiring harnesses and H4 reflector housings. All you will need is 4 crimp connectors to splice into the stock lighting system. They are very bright and will need adjusted lower than stock halogens. I spent about 45 minutes getting them adjusted and I can see a lot better. Nathan has them on sale for $350 shipped and you can't beat that. I was going back and forth trying to decide on 6000k or 8000k. I wanted a pure white light and they have a slight blueish tint. 8000k are more blue and the light output decreases.

The beam pattern is set correctly. The pics were taken level with the headlamp. I spent about an hour setting them up and finally reduced the glare. The reflector housings do take a bit more adjustment than a projector. When I first installed the housing, the HID's looked as if the high beams were on and why I toom extra time adjusting them. The side to side adjustment need very little adjusting. Right now, when the headlamps are on, you see the light pattern in front of the car and not in the back of someone elses car.

8000 for both fogs and heads...I like them, however naturally since it dose not have projectors they do give out some glare, you will need to lower them. Color is just right i might try ordering some h4 projectors to further improve them... GO

well if youre pointing them downwards more than the stock halogens, does the distance of the light output in front of the car decrease? Can you see better at night even though they are pionted downwards more? I dont want to have to use my highbeams very much, if at all, because they will still be halogens. Also, I looked at a the install guide that LEDgauges.com has posted for the 98-02 sealed beam conversion. They claim its plug-n-play, but the guide shows the customer cutting the stock harnesses off and using wire connectors. I thought it was a kit that will literally plug right in and work as if it were just another light bulb.

The stock connectors will need to be cut off and will need some crimp connectors. Other than that, it is easy to install them. The ballasts need to be mounted and that is easy to, especially for TA's. You do have to angle the lenses down further but, you can still see a lot better than with the stock halogens.

Later today, I can get full pics of the the installation of the HID's. When I installed mine, the instructions from LEDGauges were more difficult than it needed to be. Apparently, the TA's and Formula's are very different. Once you remove the headlight shroud, you will see a stud sticking out from the bumper. Both sides have this and this is an excellent mounting place for the ballasts. The ballast come with a mounting bracket.
