hypertech chip?

hypertech chip? so how useful is superchip anyways i was looking at some chips around the $300 range, but before i blindly decided to go off and buy one do guys think it's a good idea and if yes which one do you perfer im looking like i said around the $300 range..
Not sure why you put this in the stereo section but anyways i think your probably talking about the programmer? In my experience the hypertech is good for changing gear ratio and thats about it. The diablo is pretty much the only handheld i would mess with.

I would not buy one, but I am biased since I was employed there and was the lead dyno tuner. Gear ratios are a good reason to buy one, if you have a v8 then you will most likely gain power. Fuel mileage is not a good reason to buy hypertech ppg. I wouldn't purchase one if I had a v6 or less either.

I'm not saying I didn't or the guy who was my boss that left before me didn't tune cars well. We tuned them very well, but I never tuned your car. The Hypertech ppg has the tuning from some car with xxx compression and xxx problems and xxx wheels and tires xxx options xxx modifications (there were rarely all stock) and the gear ratios aren't always correct due to treadwear and non-oem tire and rim sizing.
Basically I tuned some car very well, your paying $450 for me or the guy before me to tune some other guy's car very well. Will it make the exact hp and tq figures (cough inftd) on your car? I highly doubt it.
If you want your car tuned CORRECTLY, never ever buy a chip/programmer/whateever. Support your local speed shop in paying for his dyno and making your car ALL IT CAN BE.
Some of advertising the companies do..... I mean seriously, I have seen my figures go from the dyno room to the sales ad and.....
Local dyno guys, support them. I would love to live in a nation of hot rods and local speed shops. Companies/People promising a box with magic dust that is tailored to you! For only $XXX you dont have to do anything just slap it on and you will get XXXXhp/tq and XXX more mpg and blah.
There are alot of brilliant people out there who will tune your car for less than $300 on a dyno.
