new stereo setup
new stereo setup alright i just picked up 2 sets of the new alpineR 6.5" coaxials, and a new set of rockford 4". all the speakers are 4 ohm. I have a pioneer 6700mp deck and i bought a new alpine vpower 4channel amp. Just looking to see the best way to run the new setup. should i just leave everything connected to the factory amp and just run all new speaker wire? and should i run the 6.5's off the amp and the 4's from the deck or what? i also have a monoblock amp for a pioneer 12. any help would be appreciated thanks guys

While that setup isn't BAD, some people here really need to learn that Alpine is not the end-all-be-all of car audio, seriously.
Don't hook up the 4"s, run new wire, run the 6.5"s from the amp.

Factory wiring is sufficient for mids/highs... it is really not worth the hassle to run the wire to me. Just hook up ALL of the speakers to your 4 channel amp. Well, the 4"s are whatever, I'm saying don't use the factory amp or deck to power any of the speakers if you bought another amp.

from the speakers that ive heard i like alpine just a personal choice, as for my head unit ive always had pioneer i like the way its set up and alpine doesnt make 4" as far as i know. i pretty much had a choice from rockford and alpine as far as the amps go and i already had a vpower series so i got another. i was just looking for some information on what kind of setup would sound the best, not for people to argue over speaker choice. but for the people that post to help instead of down what i bought i appreciate the help.

i pretty much came to the conclusion when i have the subwoofer back there, most if not all of the highs are going to get drowned out anyway so i figured why waste the amp power. i just figured that with the acoustics of my car, they had a speaker setup like that for a reason " best sound quality " but im no sound genius. i was just looking for some help on the matter.

z2env, I would have run separate wiring for your setup. I went through some fun times with the factory Mansoon setup and trying to figure out which wire does what. You are going to take door and sail panels anyway in your car. Just my 0.02.
