Amp Problem have a question

Amp Problem have a question Hey guys,
I would appreciate anyone's input on this. I have a sony xplod amp my brother got me hooked up to a 10 in sub. The sub stopped working the other day so I took a look at the amp while my stereo is on. I have several lights on top of the amp such as power, signal, ect. One of the lights is labeled "over current".
This light is on and I am assuming that is why my sub doesnt work. Can anyone help?

It could be a lot of things.
Not enough ground, too small of wire (probably not this one), amp got hot, ohm load is too low, or your amp could be totally fried.
Being that it is a Sony XPlod amp, I wouldn't be surprised if the amp is dead.

X-plod = trash... but anyways, it could be that it is shorting out somehwere. I would just check every connection. How long have you had the amp and some working together? Maybe it isnt the right sub for that amp.

I have had the sub and amp together for about 2 years now. has worked fine until now.

Sony gets less credit than they deserve. Their head units are some of the most durable HUs out there in my opinion. I have an old Sony head unit that is STILL playing in my dad's truck and it is about 5 years old. My brother has an old Sony that was in his '69 Nova and now in his Blazer, it's over 10 years old and still works perfectly.
It is just that their amps/speakers aren't very good.
I personally hate Sony as a company because of all the crap they pull so I don't buy anything of theirs anymore.

well I would probably think an X-plod amp WOULD only last for about that long. If you checked ALL your connections, and if it still doesnt work, I would get another amp. Not X-plod.
