Battery?
) and I am thinking about replacing my battery. Recommendations? Please do not tell me to do a search
Thanks in advance.
It depends on how you use the car and how much you want to spend. I agree that Optima batteries are among the best you can buy. For normal use get a red top. If you like to run your system often without the engine running then you might want a yellow top. They don't have as much cranking power but they are designed to "deep cycle" - you can discharge and recharge them many times without damage.
If your charging system is in good shape then you can buy any battery that fits if you don't want to spend the money on something like an Optima. Just don't buy an OEM GM replacement - they're prone to case cracking and aren't as good as others you can get for the same money.
Yellow tops work just fine. Any deep cycle battery works fine. Just becuase there's one bad apple, doesn't mean the whole batch is bad.
