My sirius antenna is velcroed to the underside of the trunklind.

You didn't specify. So the velcro is on the top of it and its stuck to the underside of the trunklid that way?

Since you have an SS, the hood is fiberglass or composite so its ok. For the rest of us, that won't work since the metal of the hood will block some signal which can cause bad reception.
