Default Intrested in 200AMP Alternator?

Anyone? I can get some brand new ones for the LS1's for about $240 + shipping. Come with a one year unconditional warranty. I personally have on installed in my car and it works better than any other high output alt i have used...

Who made it? I haven't had good luck with aftermarket alternators...mine went out with no warning and left me stranded.

Idle has been my number one complaint with my 160-amp...I had to bump my idle up to 900 just to get it to charge at idle.

I think that's about what I paid for my Alterstart one off ebay. 200amp, came with the little dyno/test sheet showing it puts out 110 amps at 800rpms

Ohio Generator probably has one of best if not the best. I would say that is the alt of choice for 90% of the spl cars I used to compete with.

I'm beginning to think there aren't any companies out there that offer a reliable, higher output alternator. I'm thinking about having Ohio Generator rebuild my 160-amp alt. I got from Afterthoughts Auto that decided to take a dump on me.

No troubles with mine either. I have a 275amp. They offer you a 2 year warranty also.

I have a 200amp alternator from Excessive Amperage... best alternator I've ever owned, and this is my 6th one lol.

I hear great things from this company, too bad they only offer 90 day warranty. I did here few complaints, but a bad apple doesn't make the whole batch bad.

Nate from excessive amperage ripped me off and did not send my core refund like he stated he would. The refund was due to his alternator failing and killing 2 batteries. Every alternator I got from him looked like it was tossed around by gorrillas and he then complains that my alternator that I sent back was not packed correctly and damaged when it was packed better than the ones he sent. Then he says he'll eat the cost and give me the refund. Never saw it or heard from him again. Never returned my emails after that. Don't like dealing with liars so screw him.

I'll bump this with an added question: anyone make a high quality replacement alternator that is just a bit smaller?

I have mine relocated as pictured

and I need more room at the back of the alternator... the fuel rails are interfering with the big stocker and I need to be able to nudge the unit back farther to get the pulley correctly aligned.

Thanks for any info...

FYI - I had my rebuilt locally to put out 200amps for $135. He added additional windings and upgraded the rectifiers and diodes.

RW99 - I don't think they make a smaller alternator for our cars. We have the small case alternators already.

Blown383 - I think they lied to you about the output.

Well thats kinda hard for them to lie since I watched them hook up an ampmeter to my car with the new alternator installed.
