Are any cd changer from any 98-02 Camaro/Firebird interchangeable? Does the P/N matter?

Thanks
There is a difference between Camaro/Firebird Monsoon amps.

Firebird HUs look different/have the EQ bars, etc.

Not too sure about anything else -- hopefully you get some answers, not many people I don't think have ordered these parts... just curious -- why are you doing this??? Also...what does your username mean by 1LE? There wasn't a 1LE package in '98...

I visited the dealer, he straightened me out. I don't want to use aftermarket stereo equipment.

There was a genuine 1LE in 98 and 99. My door jamb sticker, option list, and build manifest all show the 1LE option code. I have ac, but no rear window defrost, crank windows, no fog lights, no traction control, no power locks, no power mirors, no power seat, factory badge delete, and the obvious host of suspension items. I would point you to 1le.net, but that sight has unfortunately closed down. Shame, it was a great site.

I think option 1LE came back as a suspension option on loaded SS cars in 01 and 02, but I don't know if the components were different.

hmm...not at ALL saying you are wrong -- I believe you actually -- just all my papers (and by papers I just mean sh*t I've collected/printed/books/etc...nothing completely official) or production models/numbers by year list that there was no 1LE option for '98.

EDIT: I looked at Firebird documents, and apparently there was a suspension package available WITH the WS6 also. I've just never heard of a Z28 1LE..

please enlighten me!

I believe this used to be on the 1LE.net site:

http://ve3eie.ncf.ca/1le_history.html

Scroll down to the last two paragraphs.

This shows 98 option codes:

http://www.camarosource.ca/php/camar...eels&year=1998

On my window sticker, it says Performance Package (Special Handling Suspension System) for $1175, and like I said, I have 1LE on my door jamb and build manifest. Mine is not as hard core as earlier 1LEs. They used to get better brakes and came ac delete. But I am fairly certain it is a genuine 1LE car.

I really wish 1LE.net had not dissappeared, it was great to help explain the 1LE.
