Default ASR off @ startup

I'm pretty sure theres a way to do this without buying the SLP module. I want me ASR to be off when i start the car, but capable of being turned back on in case i need it (rain/ snow). I couldn't find anything when i searched, but maybe theres a write up on this? I'd assume if you switch the 2 wires that send the on off signal it could do the trick, in a sense reverse the polarity. Any help is appreciated.

Cool

Save some green and buy an SLP TCS Logic Module, 1999-02 Camaro/Firebird
Part #SLP63015.
Have one, works like a charm.

Far as I know the only way to do it for free is to pull the fuse. You can slip some electrical tape behind the overlay to block the asr off idiot light.

I really don't think it's too necessary in the rain and it can be put back to normal for winter.

I have a question about the SLP TCS Logic Module. When you have it installed, and you start the car, will the ASR OFF light be on all the time while you drive?

Yes it will....
Fourth-generation Camaro or Firebird owners know that the factory traction control is a disadvantage at the track. Get ready to make a 1/4 mile pass or execute a burnout and you stall on the starting line or in the burn-out box when you dump the clutch in a 6-speed car. Automatics just "bog" as the system cuts power to stop wheel spin. GM designed the traction control system to activate as you start the car, but sometimes it's just not necessary.
SLP offers this clever device that reverses the activation of your car's TCS function. It's "off" until you turn it "on" with a manual switch on your car's dash or console. No more embarrassing or annoying moments at the track. Simple plug-in installation.

So if you mearly pull the fuse, will it defeat the ASR? I live in california and would not need it ever. If i did i'd just replace the fuse.

Pulling the fuse will defeat the ASR with no impact to your ABS. But the idiot light will remain lit. So you block it. Done.

Wait where is this at? Under the hood? It's not in the fuse box?

When I put LEDs in my ASR switch I accidentally re-installed it with the metal rocker flipped upside down. Started the car up and it was off until I turned it on. But that stupid "ASR OFF" light bugged me nucking futs

Yes its under the hood in the driver side fuse boxes.

LOL. I'm still getting used to the light being on, and the tread is going to wear on my back tires much faster but, I don't care!!!

I've got an extra ASR switch just waiting to be modded for this, I don't want to pay for the SLP unit either.

If you do the fuse method, you can peel back the gauge face on your cluster just enough to use a pair of tweezers or needle nose pliers to pop a small square of electrical tape in there. It completely blocks out the ASR OFF light, and is fully reversible.

Kind of a pain to pull the cluster but definitely worth it. You can have reversible, full time TCS disable with no idiot light for 30 minutes of work and no cost.
