Default Sub Experts.. Have a question

I am looking for two 12's that can deal with the following:

Both subs need to be dvc 4 ohm subs or svc 2 ohm
Each sub will have exactly 1.0 cubic ft of airspace.
RMS Should be around 500w each sub.

I looked at JL W3v3 and they require 1.25 cubic ft per sub, and I will not run rockturd fosebrake. I have a couple of L7's but they aren't 12's and I want 12's this time around. I would prefer a sq sub of an spl sub, and mounting depth isn't a tremenous issue. I was thinking about the Memphis Audio M3s, but I can't find their air space requirements.

Opinions please!

1 cubic foot for a 12 is gonna be tough I think. I dont know for sure, Im not an expert. (even though I know thats what you asked for). And Also stick with a circular sub. JL = awesome

Why don't you get L7 kickers or you just don't wanna spend that much for 12's. I think they sound awsome. If you want just an sq sub alpine type r's aren't bad just not as loud as a w3 or kicker but they're clarity and quality of sound is really good.

SQ sub and type-r is an oxymoron.

Here are some options off the top of my head:

Fi SSD's can be ran .8 sealed i believe and will work nicely with 500 watts a piece. get the copper coil if u can budget it. it helps the subs hit the lows lower.

you can get them at ficaraudio.com i believe they are 189 a piece. not exactly sure this is all off the top of my head.

i am a firm believer in fosgate stuff!!! i ran the T1 12's in a camaro box and actually blew the box apart those things really hit!!! of course i was sending 1075 Watts to each of them . some of their older stuff didn't last, but i later found out that i was distorting them by running too small of an amp and trying to push the amp too hard which caused clipping and blew them. I never had problems out of the T1's or the T2's. I'm running 12" kickers now just cause i couldn't afford to go with the fosgates this time around. they sound really good too, but dont sound as good as the fosgates

i would suggest Eclipse subwoofers, specifically the aluminum cone subs.

http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-ECLIPSE-DVC-...QQcmdZViewItem

i dont vouch for the seller, im just using this to show the product, info, and price on ebay.

while ive never heard this specific sub, i have heard the older versions of this sub and i must say that they really kick ***.

Eclipse = TC Sounds TC builds their subs.

And I'll repeat myself since ls1motorsports didn't read... type Rs are NOT a sound quality sub. They can get loud off lots of power, thats it.

yes, alpine is a decent all around sub, but not an SQ sub.

i thought i recognized those TC subs, they reminded me of the eclipse subs. where did you hear that TC makes the subs for eclipse? theres so many rumors, typically they come from companies who buy baskets from the same source.

oh, 95bat, this is caraudiodave from other forums. whats up man.

To be at full power, yes, but 500WRMS each is plenty...

500wrms is like 1/3 the power they will handle... why spend $500+ on a pair of subs when you can't even power them?

Whats up Dave? You get a 12 second slip in the camaro yet?

Why 2? Just get one JL 12W7 or one 13.5W7. It will definatly out perform most 2-12" set ups , ad the SQ is top notch.

Would you guys still say the TC1000 is a good choice if you're looking at a 10" sub instead of a 12? I'll have 600W at 2ohms to drive it and I definitely want to stay under $200 (I was hoping to be closer to $100, but I don't think I'll get the SQ I'm hoping for at that price range).

Man I second those 13OV2's. They rock. They out pound my old 2 HE-2 Rockford fosgates. Amazing lil subs. Granted when I first was searching I was very hesitant about elemental Designs aka eD, but I trusted subtump. Went ahead and ordered them and I am damn happy. They have such a heavy magnet, one of those 12's fealt like it weighed 2-3 pounds more than one of the 15s. I also put them in a t top box. So im sure it is very space limited... anyways good luck with your choice.!
