well, i got it to fit today after an hour and talking with the previous owner. the dang thing is crazy tight in there. only one thing i want to say, the cargo cover won't go on so i will have to figure out something to hide my new subs,

he did say he ran that box with 10in infinity subs in his ss and it was also tight. no i did not have to cut anything to make it fit but i wonder if the stock jack is in the way of it sitting flush and allowing me to put the cargo cover on. i want to keep the stock spare tire and jack just in case of a flat. right now it sits about 1/2 in over the "fuel tank hump" i guess its called.

update...
today i sold the box. i didn't like the box being so tight and not being able to put the cargo cover on. for the summer i want to make a 12in box that sits in the lower well area. it seems i'll have a little more than 1 cubic foot of air space how i want it.
