Turn Signal Socket My front left side turn signal socket is pretty toasted. I replaced the bulb when it quit and the new one worked for a while but quit today. I read a thread somewhere about how to repair the socket but I can't find it now and search is borked as usual. Can anybody help or direct me to that thread?

Ok, thanks. Does the inside connector piece pull out? I seem to remember reading something like that. In other words, how do you remove and attach the wires from the old unit to the new?
The connectors are crimped from the factory. Autozone sells the connectors for $7.99. Buy yourself some 18-22gauge crimps with heatshrink at the same time. I would check to make sure your housing is in good shape and not allowing water to enter. I had to replace one of mine.
In addition, I picked up some dielectric grease at the same time and put some in the new socket to keep moisture out.

I have also had the same issue. I was lucky enough to find a Buick in the junk yard with the exact same socket just hanging out of a smashed front turn signal. It was in perfect condition and the guy just gave it to me!! LOL!! Cut and splice...worked great and like Starion said...don't forget the heatshrink/dielectric grease or it will happen again.

Hey guys I need one. So any part number from specific store would be great. Autozone locally said they don't care those type of parts and I would need to try a dealer. Odd.
Any other suggestions on how to house that light really well in there. Any sealants or anything to try to protect the socket? Mine are burnt to hell. THX.

Go the end of the bulb isle and look at the middle-to-lower-half of the last section of the isle. You'll see various connectors in clear packages with gray/blue backers. Its there. I know this because I've bought it at AutoZone. Its about $8. I don't think I still have the package though. There was a thread not too long ago with the part number. If I can find it, I'll post it.
