Any speaker output works but alot of guys use the sail panel ones for bass/subs since the sails only allow bass frequencies through. For easy access or if you want full range sound to amplify, you can use the hatch speaker outputs if you wanted. It just needs a speaker signal to convert and send to the amplifier.

I would splice in as close to the source as possible (Delco HU) -- even though it's more convenient t splice in near speakers....the signal is cleaner at the HU outputs (even though the amp doesn't distort much, there is likely some and it is amplifying the distorted Delco HU signal)

You could also splice into the inputs at the Monsoon amp. It's the same as at the head unit (unamplified speaker level) but it might be a more convenient location than behind the dash.

I would use E7 (brown) and E6 (yellow) for the positive and negative respectively because they're for the left rear speaker so (assuming you put the sub in a stealth box) the balance and fader will work as you would expect. But any pair labeled positive input and negative input will work.

hmm.... good point as far as fading controls -- I would actually use the opposite in that case, and use the inputs from the front speakers since you will mostly likely always either have the fade in the neutral position or more towards the front (assuming you don't want to lose bass output when you fade forward) -- but yea splicing at Monsoon inputs is most convenient -- I was just thinking as close to HU as possible is best to catch the signal - you most likely have RCAs that will run the length of the car anyway -- might as well put them to use?...either way will likely sound the same though.
