I have a subthump t-top box and can't decide between elemental designs 13Ov3 or JL 12w3v2 subs, anyone have experience with ED. Also, how much power am I going to need to run these?

well i had a set of ed 10's they where the thin ones tho. it was for a box for my escalade and the sounded like crap. i have heard the make good subs and some are happy with them. i have a alpine type r and i sounds realy good. my box is a mtx thunderform. my type r handles 500 watts rms and i was pushing it with a alpine mono 350 watt rms and was realy loud louder than the 2 10 memphis m class's with a 500 watt m class amp. im geting a new amp for the camaro later on today.

The 13Ov3's can handle twice as much power as the 12W3's. I love the 12W3's, but I would go for the 13Ov3's and get a eD Nine.1 amp. You can use the package builder on there website to get it for 607.75 shipped. Get the D4 version for a 1ohm load and 1200wrms from the amp.

On ebay it looks like you'd pay about $710 shipped for the JL stuff. You can't go wrong with JL though.

JL's are a very good sub, as are the ED's if you design the system (box/power) correctly... I have had JBL, JL, Adire, ED and now I am the happiest I have been so far... Digital Designs 9515 and a Revolution 1500.1, 9515 is in 3.5 cubes and tuned to 32h and just sounds sexy...

That being said the best advice I can give you is that a crappy sub can sound good in a perfect setup and a perfect sub can sound like crap in a crappy setup...

The eD is more sub than a w3 for roughly the same. That means you can push more power and get a little more output. I don't think you'd be disappointed either way though.
