Depending on what you put in. A large sub enclosure with big subs would probably add some time but most guys remove that stuff when they go to the track. I can have my stealth boxes out in 5mins. That would leave a 6lb. amp that I don't think would make any difference on your timeslip. So it basically depends what kind of system you put in.

If you ask the same riceboys that brought you taking out your back seats then yes, it does. Otherwise negligible.

With my 2 10's and 2 amps, my time does not improve with the stuff removed.

You've got to have a pretty heavy setup to slow you down. I have 2 12s and a big *** box and it is 88.5 lbs... 100lbs is 1/10th in the 1/4 mile I believe.

Alright, cool, I guess LS1 horsepower is different from the horsepower every other car makes so weight affects it differently. That is good to know.

You're making fun of what I said, but not a stupid generalization like 100 pounds is 1/10s? Seriously. How much does your car slow down when you have a couple people in it? I've known people with pretty fast turbocharged Integras and such that slowed WAY down with people in them. Nobody's claiming that there is NO difference in our cars, but our beefy engines can handle weight much easier than most. Besides, our cars are heavy to start. Adding 100 pounds to a 4000 pound car and adding 100 pounds to a go-kart are completely different things, and as such, that generalization completely fails.

My full setup weighs about 50 pounds including my two amps, a single 10-inch sub, and the stuff used to box the sub and mount the amps. It stays right where it is whether I'm at the track or on the street...
