Jl audio w7's and w6's???
I have heard that the jl w7 is the best woofer out. If that's true then what comes in 2nd and 3rd place. I have 2 12 inch aw1200v audiobahn's in a sealed box with the ma audio hk401sx. I'm pushing around 600 watts to each sub and it has my back glass moving just as much as the woofers are. Are jl's really that great. I'm thinking about trying out the jl w6 to see what that sounds like. Does anyone here have them or something better.

when it comes to speakers, there is no "best", there's only what's best for you. sound is subjective. one person may think their setup is the best on the planet, but someone else may think it sounds like ****.
that said, JL Audio is a premier brand, and they have their reputation for a reason....but with that reputation comes the price of admission.....and the W7's are not cheap, by any means.
it really all depends on what you want to do with it. do you just want a nice, clean-sounding sub that fills out the low end nicely, or do you want to be heard from a mile away?
there are many good subs out there, the best advice anyone can give you is to just go out and actually listen to them, both in the store, and (if possible) in a real-world setup. only then can you determine what sounds good to you, and you can make a decision based on that.

This is what i'm looking for. My box is sealed 3.0 cubic feet.....1.5 for each sub. The amp i have is 1200 watts rms at 1 ohm and 1800 watss rms at 0.5 ohm. The bass that i love the most is that deep deep sounding bass. What subs do you recommend for this setup???

depends on personal pref. as stated. i always swore by Jlaudio they make awsome car audio. but you should listen to some boston acoustic's. a lot of people dont know about them, or they just know them for there home audio systems. you should listen to there
G2's or even better the G5's. once you hear them you will see that they have a tighter, cleaner bass to them than the Jl's....you might change your mind. i know i did and that is what i now run. all depends on what you like thoughh

As it has already been mentioned it all up to your ear. I have friends that have spent $4K on their systems and in my opinion they don't sound that great to me, it all depends on the type of sub SQ vs SPL and how they have their system tuned as well as the enclosure size/design. MTX has been marketing their Thunder 9500 series in direct comparison with the JL W7, and to no surprise MTX has their "research" to back up their claims. I have head these subs personally and if you give them the power they want they hit low and hard. They might be an option for you as well.

Boston Acoustics SPG555
TC Sounds LMS series and similar
Creative Sound Solutions SD12, SDX15
Adire Audio Brahma (there was another one from them, too lazy to look up what it was)
Exodus Audio Shiva-X, Tempest-X (pretty much remakes of Adire Brahma)
Ascendant Audio Havoc, Avalanche
RE XXX
Fi anything pretty much
Stereo Intensity Magnum
All equal or better than W7. Keep in mind that W7 came before almost all of them, though.

i heard my friend system that he spent about 3-4k on it and it dident sound all that great. he worked to tweetr's and got the stuff at cost and had a w7 when they first came out and it was all custom fiberglass painted the color of the car {som} had the best boston acustics they make and my system in my opinion souns better. i have a alpine new model type-r in a mtx stealtbox and to me it sounded just as good as the w7 but maybe his **** wasent set up good.
