Replacing Speakers Well, I want to start off by saying that I used the search and quickly lost my patience so I'll just ask the obvious question. I'm looking to replace my sail panel speakers in my 2000 camaro(they are blown out) and I was curious whether I should use stock replacements or are there speakers I could get that would make an easy and better replacement? Also, the lights behind my radio have burned out, so at night it is hard to see. Is there anyway to replace these lights?

No, do not use the Alpine speakers for the sail panels. They work well in the doors but the sail panel speakers are subs and are low-pass filtered by the Monsoon amp so you can't get full range signal there. You can use just about any 6.5" sub/midbass speaker there. CDT makes a very good midbass that fits - ask Kee Audio about them. The only true sub that fits is the eD 7kv.2 but it is deeper than stock and requires a spacer for installation. Besides, the difference in sound from the CDT midbass is minimal.

In a Firebird, you should use a dual voice coil (DVC) sub in the sail panels to best match the factory wiring. There are two subs commonly used for this - one from Bazooka and the other from Elemental Designs.
