Headlight problem, dr side low beam normal and 3 others dim

Headlight problem, dr side low beam normal and 3 others dim i am having a problem with the lights on the trans am. They go on but when i have the low beams on the left light is normal and the highbeam on the dr side is on for some reason very dim and the pass side both the high and low beam are on but very dim. So the only bright one is the dr side low beam. can someone please help me out quick here ? thaNKS

Check your grounds. The symptoms you describe usually mean a bad ground (the headlights are grounding through each other). The headlights ground to bolts on each side of the radiator support.

gonna check that out today. whitebird you are the man. anychance it can be anything in that 9 pin connector ? the pass side had some corrosion i was trying to clean out

You must be talking about a Firebird - not your Camaro RS.
Still, the connectors at the headlight assemblies are only 5-pin. But it is possible that a problem with one of those connectors would cause a bad ground and lead to the symptoms you're seeing.

thanks for the info, it was indeed the black wire in the connector below the light. i just ran a tap from it to the other side and it works fine now. Btw it was on the trans am. Thanks again.

In my case, 1998 Trans am, it was the 5 wire connector for the headlight and headlight motor. After checking and cleaning the grounds on the frame ( G105 ,G106 ), I still had the dim passenger light. I used a small hook and pick set to take apart the harness connector. Like our other connectors, you push down on the inside bottom of the female side and then pull the wires out from the back of the connector. After cleaning them - everything works fine. I also bent most of the connectors for the various sockets and lights to insure a good contact. The headlight sockets would practically fall off the back of the lights before i did this.
BTW - This was a good time to replace the low note horn that was out. Very easy to do as the fiamm from the local auto parts was a direct replacement.
