Default Amp repaired?

I have an old Phoenix Gold ZX450 that I used to have in my old LT1 and it used to hit HARD. Right before I sold my LT1, the amp started blowing my inline fuse. I replaced it with a rockford amp, but it didn't have the same sound as my Phoenix Gold. Anyone know if stereo shops repair amps?

What do you mean by same sound? Im not too familar with differences with amps. Is the phonex you had louder then the one you got, is that what you mean by more sound or where they the same power but the phonex is more efficent at keeping its power ratting? Just asking for future reference when i buy another amp.

Im sure he is referring to the quality/power of the amp

Pheonix gold/Coustic are some of the good old school amps
Low power rating, but the more you try to push out them the more they put out

they are really good amps for the wattage they were rated

I have a coustic 207a that is 35w RMS per channel (2channel)
and it will thump some 10s or 6x9

love the old school

specs on the Rockford amp?

Are you sure you set the gains properly?

Were the gains on the old amp set correctly?

I had installers do the work and set up the old amp and it was in my Camaro for years then it started blowing fuses. I went out and got a RF to replace it, The RF installed by professionals but still didn't have the kick. I have my Phoenix still and just wondering if people repair them. I did a google and found some info.

not worth it. Get a more powerful amp if the Rockford doesn't do it for you.

Someone that will repair an amp is becoming much like a TV repair shop these days..

But even I'm coming around to Class D amps for subwoofer applications.. more efficient than the Class A/B, and cost less.

i have a 1000w 2 channel and run it bridged to 2 subs all day long
Sounds so much better!

If i could find a Class D to run my subs to then i would trade in a heartbeat....

I also want a 4 channel 1000w for my door speakers... but that wont be soon
