Default ***LED Z28 brake light ... need help guys**

Hey I have a Z28 and I just got an LED brake light conversion for the third brake light. On the back of the brake light, there is a red and black wire, which im assuming is positive and negative. As you guys know there are 2 bulbs in the stock light, so there are 4 wires going to those bulbs. Which color, green or white, is positive, and how can i best wire this up seeing as I need to wire 4 wires into 2... Thanks in advance for the help. Electrical is so not my thing so explain it to me like a noob please.

edit: Here's what im working with FYI

Thanks again

if you've got a multimeter have somebody get in the car and hold the brakes and check from terminal to terminal and until you get 12v. I would say you could just pick one light or the other tie into assuming the LED conversion operates off 12volts. Also if you hook it up with the polarity (+,-) backwards you will not hurt the LEDs they just won't come on. BTW PM me where you got the light

Don't tap into the third brake light wiring so close to the bulbs. You'll find that the four wires already go down to two wires at the connector that plugs into the wiring harness. The two wires are light blue (power) and black (ground). Connect the light blue to the red and connect the black wires together.

I just hooked it up before i saw your post. I took out both bulbs and wrapped one of the empty bulb holders in electrical tape and cut the other off with enough room so i could put it back to stock if needed. Its working fine right now, so I think i going to leave it unless its going to cause a problem that you guys know of. Looks great, but the thing came in a clear lense and it doesn't look stockish enough for me so I'm going to get some Candy red translucent paint and spray it. Am I loosing any brightness by hooking it up the way i did?

Is this the light off Ebay? Can you put up a pic of it on the car? I was looking at those yesterday.

Yeah man if you can get the clear lens off of it and somehow use the red lens that would be pretty cool

You're fine the way it is.
