Default mono vs. stereo amp

I in debate between an Alpine PDX-1.600 with 600 watts rms at 4 ohm x1 channel and a Kicker 06ZX850.2 with 295 watts rms x2 channels. My subs are 4 ohm (i believe single voice coil) polk audio db series rated at 360 watts rms each. What would be the best setup in my case? I already have alpine cda-9887 hu so alpine amp would be sweet, but the mono part sort of pushes me away. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

Go with the mono. Is it a lowpass amp built specifically for subs? Then its a no brainer

more power, better efficiency for the same money...

the 2 channel amp is 4 ohm at 295w rms so thats still the same thing. Really it is just all about the branding/sq for me now. If I get the mono amp with 4 ohms per channel, would that mean that if I hook up 2 subs to it, each one will only get 2 ohms? Sorry, I am a real noob in this audio ****.

you have 2 4ohm subs you wire them in parallel for a 2 ohm load to the amp

pdx =600 at 2 ohms

2 channel amp briged at 2 ohms =blow amp

I guess in theory you could run each sub to its own channel on the 2 channel kicker but you need to make sure you have a divider in your box or a mono signal coming into the amp. You are also not getting the full amount of power out of the amp either, so IMO you really want a mono amp
