That amp kit looks good. Doesn't come with RCA's, though. I'd hate to say it, but I have to disagree with the recommendation to use scosche wiring, especially if you can get Monster at a good price. I used to work at Circuit City, and we replaced some wires in a customers car once that had scosche 4 gauge and we compared it to the tsunami 4 gauge. The scosche had much more insulation and much less wire than the tsunami. The 8 gauge Tsunami had almost as much wire as the scosche. Of course this is all my opinion, but I say you get what you pay for in this case.

A lot of people say that you can get great sound with the monsoon amp and an aftermarket HU, so i'd try that and see if you like it before messing around changing the wiring.

Stright to the new HU. You are just taking the amp out of the middle.

Thanks guys. Hey Hatch, can you please explain to me what the RCA cables are for and where they connect too?

Sure, the RCAs are the cables that actually carry the audio signal from your HU to your amp. Typically, if possible, you'd want to run the RCA cables down the opposite side of the car from the power wires to avoid interference. That's why you see the different types of RCAs with different shielding and whatnot. You'll know if you have interference. Most of the time it's that annoying whine coming from your speakers. Not only do better RCAs not have as much interference, but as I said in an earlier post, they can actually make a difference in the clarity of the sound. That's why I recommended the better ones. I don't think you have to worry if you're getting Monster Cable, though. I just checked out there website and if I were you, getting that discount, I'd go for the 300 series RCAs instead of the 200 series. It'll only cost you like 5 bucks more and you'll be getting some kickass RCAs. The 200s are also good, but for that price difference, 300 series all the way. You won't be disappointed.

Thanks for the great explanation. As for the Monster Cables, since I'm getting a discount I was thinking of just getting the best ones which is the 400 series correct? So quick question to clarify what I will be ordering from Monster Cable. I should order just the Amplifier Kit alone (that's if the RCA cables comes with it, does it?) Or Amplifier Kit and RCA Cables? If its not any trouble would can you get me the part number of what I need to get on Monstercable?

ok, if you want the 400 series RCAs, it's P/N MPC I402 2C-6M, the wire kit is MPC P300 BAP500. That's the 4 gauge wire kit. That should be all you need to install your amp.

Thanks, I just told my friend to see how much he can get those cables for me. Retain on the RCA's are $105.95 and the kit is $69.95.

I also just picked up a Sub box which holds t-tops. So far so good with putting my stuff together. Thanks for your help.

Also good that you have that hookup! Sweet deal to you, man. I got spoiled for a while getting deals like that from Circuit City.

Well, not a great deal, really. It's a deal compared to retail, but when $30 Scosche kits from Wal-mart are just as good.... And yes, they are. Just as good. If the Ford Focus were a $50k retail car and you got one (new) for $30k, would it be a good deal for a Focus? Yes. Would it be a good deal? No.

You can say that all day long, but I'll never believe that a Scoche kit is the same quality of a Monster kit. As I said earlier in this thread, we did a side by side cross-sectional comparison and the Scoche was the same size overall, but had twice as much jacket and less wiring in a 4 gauge wire.

Also, we're comparing buying Monster for the same price as Scoche, so, if you consider what I said and my opinion about it, it'd be like buying a new Camaro for the price of a Cobalt. Why would you NOT take that deal?

I vouch for hatch and you are exactly right. Not only about Monster having great quality but I basically got all my RCA Cables, Amp Kit and GM Battery Adapter for probably the same price as a scoche if not less.

Sounds like someone should post a tread about Monster VS Scoche.

Just got my cables Hatch, I thought all the one's that I got were 400 series? But I did look at the 400 Series Amp Kit which is Double of the price of the 300 Series. Now the GM Side Mount is a 200 Series, is that okay to run with a 300 series Power Cables?

My Dash Kit, GM Antenna Adapter and Harness should come in by this Saturday. As for my Head Unit it comes in next Tuesday. Is there anything else that I'm missing that you should let me know?

Looks great! Good delivery time, too! The reason I didn't recommend the 400 series power kit was that it's a 1/0 gauge kit, which is wayyyy more than you need. And yes, that side post adapter is perfect.

As far as I can think of, you have (or have coming) everything that you need except for your enclosure if you're doing one of those hatch boxes.

Okay cool, thought they sent me the wrong ones hahaha. As for the enclosure, I picked up one of those Sub Boxes that go perfectly into the trunk which hold's T-Tops also. Those boxes are $270 plus shipping, very expensive boxes. But they do look good.

So Hatch, do you know any step by step guides online to where all these wires connect to?
