Omg dude LOL. That's horrible. I can't believe he doesn't trust you enough to go that far into putting that thing on. Well i'm not familiar with the system itself, but maybe within some time you'll be able to get it off. i.e. Drive somewhat correctly for a little while and then say to him, look i've been driving fine can we take this damn thing off. Know what I mean? Good luck

Who owns the car...you or your dad? If it's your dad's car then just get used to it because if he finds you messing with it you may end up with no wheels at all.

^^^^x2, you have a nice car. sure it is fun to go fast but it is way more fun to go slow in a car than to not have one.

there's a time and a place to go fast, sounds like you'd better learn that lesson first before you get into more trouble then just with your dad. I say leave the box in until you can prove your responsibility to him, then don't abuse the freedom once you have it again.

Yeah it seems like we've all come to the same idea with this one. Your best bet is to prove your responsibility with your parents, then see where it takes you. It is true that there is a time and place to drive fast. People that floor it all around town are the one's that get into accident's and get their car impounded. You don't want that.

There are anti-gps devices available that block the signal, no idea how well they work though.

You can get GPS blockers at:

http://www.dealextreme.com/

Items ship from China ... cheap stuff, shipping is slow but free ... read the user-submitted item reviews to see what's decent...

Screw it and "Drive it like you stole it" Have fun while you can instead of not having fun at all.

No... Don't do that. Try and gain your parents trust.

and then what do you do when your dad all of a sudden can't see any information from the GPS device? or he finds your GPS blocker?

then you're screwed and will have a hard time EVER getting him to trust you again.

as much as you probably don't want to hear it, you should just drive responsibly for a while and prove to him that you can handle the responsibility....don't jeopardize your driving privilege (and yes, it's a privilege, NOT a right....even for people who own their own cars) and your dad's trust by doing something stupid.

besides, the jammer may not even work in the long run, anyway. i'm not sure of the exact make/model of the device he installed, but some of the ones i've seen have a removable component that can just be plugged into a computer with a USB port, and the data manually downloaded directly to the computer.
