Question help me pick my subs!!!!!

hey guys i got a 2 12 sunthump box on its way and i need 2 12's for it.
i need them to be dual 4 ohm dvc subs that will handle about 500-600 watts a piece. my amp is a 5 channel memphis belle 1300 and it puts out 1100w at 1ohm for the sub channel and they are under rated so i need the subs to handle some power.
my options are:
memphis m1's
eclipse 7200's
alpine type r's
or any other sugestions.
what ya guys got for me?
thanks guys and ill post up pick of the system when im done.

I vote for the type-r's there. They're sweet subs. Also, MTX subs are nice, Kee says the new ones are better than the old ones, too. Look at the 7500 series.

Also, check out www.elevationaudio.com and look at their Pro12 woofer. Those things are monsters!

Fi Q12s trump everything you listed in both SQ and output. Type R is not a terrible sub. but it is not good either. MTX doesn't make a single good sub. Never have and I have my doubt as to whether they ever will.

TC Sounds TC-1000 and TC-2000 will also trump them as will Soundsplinter and some other stuff. Dayton Reference series will be great for SQ and so-so for output (plenty for a Camaro though). Those Pro12s don't have inductance listed but I bet it's sky-high.

R's are better ported unless that box is. I have Q's in my other car and they are nice but you are going to lay out $500 for them. Perfect match to your power and they will take more than rated are RE-12's. For the money they can't be beat! I had a single and loved it before changing. Good output and SQ! Are designed for sealed.

MTX revamped their whole line and they look to be much better then previous models. The new 7500's still are not on their site yet. They are comparable to a Type-R in price and performance.
As stated the Fi subs are phenominal performers but also in a different price category as is Sound Splinter, TC-Sounds, and Dayton.

dude; trust me, i used to sell audo equipment at Circuit City. U really need to LISTEN TO THEM FOR YOUSELF and see what u like. That is the only way you will be sure. You also need to remember that with our hatches the subs are MUCH louder.

I dealt with a lot of ppl who used to come in and ask the same question or come in a listen to what someone recomended only to realize they hated how it sounded

You really like that Fi Q12, don't you? Unless my ears are broken, I've heard some impressive sound come from type-r's and MTXs before. I wanted to look up the specs on the Q12, but no info comes up when you click on the Q series link on Fi's site.

What makes you say the inductance is so high on the Pro12? I've heard them many times and have always been impressed.

Any independant tests out showing this? I want to see distortion graphs, BL curves, etc. Not that Type R is going to do well in those tests, either, though.

Other concern is air-space requirement and if you have the room to fit. Couple of ones mentioned here though are WELL KNOWN for good SQ and output regardless of who you ask. The FI's are shallow and work well in a small box same as RE-12's but the RE's need more depth.

I just sold my 2 10" Blue Thunder Xtremes, they were awesome!! The only bad part was that the car was weighed down so damn much. When I weighed the box with the subs, it was about 90 lbs! Thats good for a tenth in the quarter mile! I actually noticed that the car was much more nimble when I took that stuff out.

There once was a time when I hadn't heard any good subwoofers, too. Don't feel too bad.

Well, at least you're very confident in your opinion. I am interested in hearing the Fi sub, though.

Elemental Designs 13Ov.2. They handle up to around 800 watts and they get awsome reviews for sound quality and hitting hard! Plus they only cost $175. http://www.edesignaudio.com/product_...products_id=35

honestly, theres no need to use all power that your amp is rated at. if you get good sub thats require less power then you wont over work your amp, and itll run cooler and thus more efficiently.

with that said, I recommend Image dynamics. either IDQ for sound quality or IDMAX for SPL. both will have good quality sound and get pretty loud.

i have han a bad experiance with ed so im going to stay away from them.i had a 10 inch type r in a stelth box and it had really good output and got decently loud and that was with 350 watts pushing it. i can go with 2 single voice coil 12's and have 600 watts pushing them but i dont know how loud it would be.im more in to sq than boomy bass and i just want it loud, clean and low.
