Yup I know, but when it comes to laser, usually once your zapped your done anyway. So I'll take my chances. So far, so good. Where I live everyone drives 90 on the Interstate lol.

Nothing beats the Valentine One in radar and laser detection and that is a fact.

Dont forget this one.

http://www.radarbusters.com/2007spee...troarticle.cfm

The ability to track and prioritize multiple radar sources, on multiple bands, and give directions is invaluable. Once you drive with the arrows, then go back a detector without them... you will feel crippled when it goes off. The State Patrol here in WA use a low power k-band transciever mounted in the front windshield of cars and motorcycles. Then will come up in behind in traffic in an unmarked' and pulse you from the rear while moving. It takes only a few seconds then they turn it off. It looks like a false on virtually all detectors except a V1 because they read the bounce off the cars in front of you. Not only do you get notified that it is real, the V1 is smart enough to know to alert to the original pulse behind you, not the bounce in front, and you know where the cop is and if they are getting closer or farther away from you in traffic.

When you read some reviews and they say that the V1 doesnt have a "City" mode and doesnt have user selectable setting, they are wrong and dont understand how it works. There are a few reviews on the Web where it is obvious the tester didnt read the V2 manual nor read the whitepapers that the user is referred to on their website for advanced configuration.

I dont work for Valentine, rather I have owned 10 or more different detectors over the years and the V1 is the best from my point of view.

On long roadtrips or rally's I will run the V1 along with my Uniden BCT8 and I catch planes using VASCAR and everything on the ground.

I am not affiliated with Valentine Research or any other radar detector company. To prove that I am not, if you live in Virginia or Washington D.C. where radar detectors are illegal, get a Beltronics STi because it can't be detected by the Spectre RDD radar detector detector. If you live in every other state where they are legal, get the Valentine One because it is the best at detecting radar and laser.

Yes, he is biased against the Valentine One. Radartest.com is run by a guy named Craig Peterson who works for Bel and Escort as a shill so he bashes the V1 every chance he gets and promotes Bel and Escort products. He got busted trying to sabotage the Guysoflidar.com 2007 radar detector test and he had to part with a couple thousand dollars on top of the $1000 radar gun that he hid under camouflauge on top of a mountain to throw off the testing.

Guys of LIDAR - Radar Detector Test Sabotage

I wonder why he was trying to sabotage the test? It could be because the truth hurts and people would realize that his "testing" site is a scam.

I LOVED my Beltronics V995, but everything else I've had was Cobra, so I can't compare to Escort, Valentine 1, etc.

Thanks for that update. I did some more checking and it seems I should have said radar detectors are illegal in eastern Canada. Alberta, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia allow them but they're illegal in all other provinces and both territories. The laws vary but many of them include confiscation of the detector when found. Some will return the detector by mail (after payment of the fine) if the owner lives in a state or province where they are legal but Quebec destroys over 10,000 detectors annually.
