anyone have the code for it which numbers are on and which are off? i cant find my original book and i think i bumped one of them off
its the plug in version that goes into a stock radio


also has anyone had problems with it commming up with a screen that says press center to dismiss, and something about usb?

the problem is i put the ipod adaptor into 3 differan cars and it worked fine just put it in a 4th and it doesnt work...i hit the aux button and it acts like nothings plugged into it...but the opd does say its charging??? any ideas?it plugs into the amp function...

i also tried another headunit and still didnt work

If you put it in one of your listed cars and it's a CD head unit then the adapter isn't compatible. Those adapters only work with HUs that can control an external CD changer. CD head units didn't get that capability until late in the 99 model year.

i understand it only works on ones that have a cd changer control....it uses that imput...i stuck it in there and it doesnt work...but it does rear that its charging?

can you have one with a cd changer plug that doesnt work? that doesnt make sense?

The port on the back of the factory systems is an "external device port". On older (pre-99) models with CD head units it was set up to support an external cassette player. That cassette player was never offered in f-bodies but was available in a number of other GM models.

The port will charge your iPod because that's just power and ground - it doesn't rely on any kind of control signal. But it won't control the iPod because the necessary control signals aren't available from the port.

ok...this is on my 99 s10...so it makes sense i guess i got an early radio...ive got a spare from a 99 z28 that also doesnt work...i guess i need to find a newer one and sell these 2...

do you happen to have the code anyways? there 8 i think switched on the ipod interface some are on and some are off...just need to know which ones are on and off thanks

Which iPod interface do you have? They are made by several manufacturers - PAC, PIE, USA Spec, etc.

its an ipod2car i think its by pac
cable is white...the box is white with a oval logo in the middle of it

It's actually made by Peripheral Electronics. A quick search of their website found that switches 3 and 8 should be on - all others should be off.
