you need to replace the multifunction switch/lever, involves taking the plastic shell off the column, not bad really.

Sorry, perhaps some of us have been doing this too long and assume too much. But when you are having problems with your wipers and somebody says replace the switch, of course they mean the wiper switch. And the wiper switch is part of the turn signal lever so yes, replace the lever.

Replacing the lever is very simple. There is a small trim panel (about 1" x 2") on the side of the plastic steering column housing that just slides off. Once you remove that little panel, you can remove the one screw that holds the lever in place. Then all you have to do is pull the lever out and disconnect the wiring connector. Installation is the reverse - insert the new lever, plug in the wiring harness, insert the retaining screw, and replace the trim panel.

On a side note, if your wipers are still stuck in the middle of the windshield, try using the washer switch. It is a separate switch (electrically) and might still work to park the wipers even if the main wiper switch is defective.

once you replace the wiper switch, you should be good to go.
