Yes, this is very posible. Mono amp means one channel not that you can only connect one sub to that one channel. You can actually connect several subs as long as you keep the amp @ a stable resistence.

Just use banana plugs on your speaker wire and make sure you mount your amp to something other than the speaker box. You cant really take an amp in and out of your car its a pain in the ***. Make sure for the banana plugs you get that they are the kind that are seperated by a plastic piece so they dont touch and short out your amp.

Haha...I used to work there! Get an MTX 81000D through accommodation, I did and it was an awesome deal! Of course, that was a while ago when the new model just came out and it was crazy cheap through MTX.

In have been running a Fosgate DB 1000 Mono block for a year now to 2 12's. You just need to be sure to get the Ohms right as said earlier or you will burn up your amp. Definately keep it at 4ohms, if you don't have a cap, even with one i still keep mine at 4. I have seen too mony amps burn up at 2ohms even though they are supposed to be stable at 1, like my own DB-1000. I am switching mine out to 2 Volfenhag 1600W amps, next week though. Good luck

If the impedence is too low for the amp to handle, it will just go into protection. It won't burn anything up.... but you'll have no sound. Mono amps burning up at 2 ohms?!?! I don't know where to begin....

Thats what is supposed to happen, but apparently not. I worked for Audio Express, installing and seen many burn out and have to be replace, including my own. A power surge can do many things, mine never even blew my 80Amp fuze, yet still blew the amp. You can listen to whoever you want, but if you're going to spend the kind of money a moster amp costs, then you better protect your investment with either a cap or run a safe ohm and suck up the few less DB's.
