LS1 Ride On 1

Some people are not satisfied with the mundane reality of owning a powerful vehicle as a daily driver. There are simply not many opportunities to have fun while on the road.

If one tries then the cops will come, sirens blazing, very swiftly to the scene. Depending on where you live your car could be impounded or even crushed. It’s hard to see the positive side to having fun on public streets.

Face it — often times the biggest rush you’ll get is flying around a 1990 Corolla or slamming your horn at a big diesel truck.

But don’t fear — that’s why there are motor sports! LS1Tech member MUSTANGBRKR02 has certainly discovered this truth.

The proud owner of a 2002 Trans Am, he couldn’t stand the idea of simply using it on public roads littered with slow cars and ticket-happy officers. Thus, he took it to the drag strip!

Now, that’s not to say that a transition as big as this came without and added time and expense. A lot has been done to this car to get it to where it is now, and we’re glad for it.

As it sits, the ride is powered by a Dart LS 427 motor by LME, has a RMVB TH400 transmission, and is equipped with a custom build (by Camaro9969). Oh, and did we mention that it’s equipped with NOS as well?

With this ride MUSTANGBRKR02 has made it into the 12 Second Club, and ought to go even further (or is it faster?) in the future!

Though it may be rather difficult for some, it can often be worth it to make your vehicle into a race car. Even if it’s just for autocross it ought to be more fun than simply holding back its potential!

Drop by MUSTANGBRKR02’s garage and leave some comments, browse the photography, and have a good time! Be sure to keep your garage up to date and maybe you’ll be featured next week!
