Baby EPS cam lays down 430rwhp/415rwtq with track results!
Well I was going to wait until I had track results before starting a tread, but the weather just isn't working with us. I'll update the thread when we get the track results.
We picked up a new LS6 longblock from SDPC for my wifes daily driven 2000 Camaro SS. It's a mild street car that will be raced pretty hard, but we did not want to give up any drivabity period. After speaking with Kurt Decker and PatrickG we opt to do a mild cam swap before installing the engine. Geoff @ EPS and PatrickG got us set up with a new custom EPS cam, springs and PRs. They spec'd us out out a 222/226 115LSA with the new EPS lobes. Geoff gave us a heck of a deal and you could not ask for better customer service. I would highly recommend him if you are in the market for a custom cam.
Kurt Decker at LSX Performance Dyno Tuning did a jam up job on the install and PatrickG got the tune dialed in spot on. It cranks,idles and drives like stock, but man does it pull hard all the way across the power band. Just to let you know how mild the cam is, I didn't tell my wife we swapped out the cams until she drove it for 3 days. She had no clue and now she's lovin' the new power. It put down 430/415through an A4. I would have never guessed a cam this mild could make this much power with stock 243 heads. The valvetrain is extremely quiet. That was a nice added bonus We couldn't even get a feel for the power it had until we swapped the hard street tires out for some soft drag radials. All I can say is OMG it feels good. Looks like we'll be needing to invest in a roll cage very soon

Now for the details. As stated above, it's a stock GM LS6 longblock with the stock untouched 243 heads. It's got all the bolt ons along with a LS6 intake. The car is a full weight 2000 Camaro SS with a Circle 4L60E and Circle D Specialties billet 245mm torque converter. We went with a little tighter stall converter that appears to match this mild set up nicely. The TQ and HP carries out very well. We are very pleased to say the least.

We have Hooker LT headers and the dyno pulls were done with the cut-out open and the converter locked.
FWIW- Our first H/C set up in our other car had MTI S2R heads and the C1 cam (222/222 on a112lsa) and it only put down 408 rwhp with an aggressive tune.
This EPS cam set up has a very conservative tune. I feel good about that since we bracket and index race.

Fantastic combo James. The quiet sounds coming from under the hood totally fool you about the strong power that hits the pavement. It is so unexpected. The white car makes outstanding power for being such a mild cam. Good lobes, good springs, good heads and good bolt-ons. It's all in the combo and yours is a winner!

We went with the Comp 918 springs.
We still have the stock 3.23 gears in the original 128K mile 10 bolt...eeeekkk
The Circle D stall converter is about a 3500-3600 RPM converter. I haven't had a chance to data log it yet due to the nasty weather. We are making a little more power than expected so it may be a tad bit higher, but boy it sure feels good when you hit the go pedal.

I'll let Geoff or Patrick G step in and answer the technical questions since I'm at work and don't have access to my cam card. The lift is in the 590ish area if that helps.
I'm going to start the shift points at 6450rpm and work up and down using ET and MPH as the final deciding factors. We haven't had a chance to make any passes just yet, but hope to soon
Another area that was tweaked to help get the most out of this combo was the modification of the Y-pipe merge collector. I'm not sure what brand Y-pipe I had, but it lacked in the flow department by design. Kurt pointed out the obvious flow restriction and it just made sense after looking at it. He installed a much better merge collector and it changed the entire sound of the exhaust note and is actually quieter and more crisp than before the cam install.lol.

Geoff spec'd me the 234/246 on a 114+3 for my setup. I just got it decently tuned and our weather went in the crapper, so now I have to wait until spring.
Gonna drive me nuts.
SOTP over the old cam in my sig is very noticeable, does not go flat at 5600 like the old cam. Can't wait to hit the track to see the new times.
