Default Just recieved my damaged SS spoiler!

I bought an LS1 SS spoiler from "The Spoiler Company" off ebay and I just came home to the box with a smash in it with tape over it on my front step. I opened it up to check it out and sure enough there is the hole smashed into it and another dent about a foot apart from each other on the top side. There are also two small pinholes on the bottom side that I don't know what they are for if anyone can tell me if it is normal or not. I called them and they said they will do a claim with the shipping company and send me a new one. It sucks though because my car is in the body shop right now and I wanted to get the spoiler before it gets painted on Thursday. Thanks FedEx!

Can anybody tell me what these pin holes (one to the outside of each center support) are?

I think the holes are for heat or maybe moisture to exscape, so it doesnt build up inside causing warping etc. That sucks about the damage, ive had that happen several times. At least they are sending another and are taking care of it.

The holes actually are for extra support. You would have to drill two new holes for the screws. I left them off mine.

Default FedEx

i know this isn't a thread about shipping company's issues. But damn! FedEx is horrible. I have had to file several damage complaints in the past. Saw them kick my dog once. Saw them throw...literally..toss a package onto my porch. Almost every package by them shows up with some kind of tear or dent. From then on I have always requested different carriers if being shipped to me. I will personally never use them again. Rant over.

Good to see they are sending a new one. Post some pics when its out of the body shop. Every time I see one of these ebay spoilers it makes me want one more.

Dude how the hell does that even happen. It's not like just dropping it would cause a hole like that. Unless it was off a two story building onto a spike?

how does it happen? cus boxes are kicked, thrown and tossed around. thats how.

those holes are for the mold process to beathe. however, some people do use those 2 holes for support.

Sucks about the spoiler, I get the same kind of service from UPS and DHL but usually not from FedEx. Atleast the company is taking care of matters for you.

Same. UPS knocked a huge hole in the box that my brand new fender came in, thankfully they hit the box in the wheel area so they didn't damage the fender itself. Looked like they had shoved someone's head through the box.

I just realized something odd. There is no way that the damage on the spoiler could have been caused from that hole in the box... When I put the spoiler back in the box the way it was, the damage to the spoiler is way to the bottom of the box where there are no holes in the box. There are tears in the bubble wrap that line up with the holes in the spoiler but the box doesn't line up. I am confused but whatever I am getting a new 1 next week too bad I have to paint the spoiler separately now since its being painted Thursday.

I used to work at a truck company. Some people just don't care. They will throw boxes and step on them. Sorry about your spoiler. Hope it all comes out okay.
