Default 98-02 Camaro hood insulation...Where to buy

Well looking for a oem hood insulation mat or if you have a part number for this that would help also. Not sure were to start tried locally at dealers and they werent helpful at all. Any ideas mine is falling apart!!

Wow really mine is a 98 Z and it has one with a chevy bowtie, would look real nice if it was in good condition

this same question was asked a while ago and i dont think anyone knew where to get one then. if anywhere, probably GM parts direct. they seem to have everything.

but i say remove it. its not necessary, and it looks better/cleaner without it.

i still have the one on on my stock camaro hood, if interested. But i'd need to check to see how hard it'd be to ship.

Ya figured shipping is the problem, If its really not needed then I will remove it but honestly I thought its something that you had to have lol

I have taken them off every f-body I have owned. They never look good except when new IMO.

Well after 1 hour of searching I did find the part number if interested 10272374 and also newgmparts.com has it so I think Im gonna order and will show pics when done

Well I decided to pull the trigger on a new hood insulation, I hope it does have the bowtie I kinda like that Also for those who didn't know certain year camaros came with it heres a pic of my old, dirty, and fallen apart one. I will post pics when the new one gets here!! P.S I know the under hood is dirty I just spent four hours cleaning the engine bay so this is the next lil project

If I remember correctly base hood models (Camaro,T/A) have them, the purpose for them is to smather (sp?) a fire. The plastic clips melts of and the insulation falls on the fire, not to mention it keeps the metal hoods cooler to the touch.
