Sorry to revive an old thread, but is it possible to relocate all the way to the trunk? i'm thinking of relocating both my battery and fuse box back there. I'll have the engine out and plenty of time on my hands.

mines a lil late, but here the pics of mine...





now that ive done this, im thinking about relocating it to the glove box or make a space where the passenger airbag is and put it in there... need to make room for a turbo kit

and you could relocate it to your trunk if you really wanted too, but you will prob have to buy a larger gauge wire to carry the current that much further, plus run a 1000' ft or so more wire to cover the whole distance from the rear all the way up to everything. If you only did it to the glove box area, then you would only really have to add wire for the front lighting to make it work.

Where did you get the braided looking sleeve covering the wires that's located in the wheel well? Is it like the stock wire loom that has a slit along the whole length, or is it just a sleeve where you have to heat to seal? I've looked all over for the braided wire cover with the slit.

Also, did you have to cut/lengthen the wires? I like the idea of copying the wire mod like the passenger side.

Here's how I did mine, I just put them down where the air pump use to be.



Held the wires tight to the frame


The boxes are mounted vertically and secured right now with 1/4" wide zip ties until I can make a more permanent mount.



I bought the block off plates from Birdman here on the site.

I also did this at first but starting having problems with the car, ignition wires got messed up and also the alarm started acting funny. I know others have done this with no problems, just sharing my experience. I moved mine under the steering wheel behind that panel. all I do is undo the 2 Phillips screws and the 2 plastic clips on the bottom and their are both my fuse boxes. I of course had to lengthen the wires. pulled out all unnecessary wires while I had it out of the car. I haven't had any problems since ived moved them under the steering wheel. I have my wires wrapped in this...

im bumping this up , i just took mine out of the factory fuse/relay holder and have them just sitting there. I did it for more intercooler pipe clearance . I dont plan to drive in the rain but how can i protect them so they dont get soaked if ihave to drive in the rain . They have to stay close to where they were as my procharger air filter is right under the fuses , below the hole .

I just dont know if its a good idea , otherwise i put them both back in the factory holder and they rest a little on the intercooler cold side piping .
