Default So I had to pull the trans....

When I bought the car, the 3rd gear syncro was bad and last summer the 4th gear syncro left too. I knew I also needed to swap my cam because it was way to big for my liking. Well I just decided to do just a tad more than that. Just thought I would share

Here's what I left the car at last night.

and the motor

And of course the obligatory picture

Here's what I started with and some progress pics.

Well I figured I would do it right the first time and just do it all. Plus the fact that my uncle and I restore cars I have pretty much everything I need to use. And he is quite convincing on making me do things and spending my money

I love having a shop to use. Thanks will do.

As far as everything that I have done since pulling it apart this is where I'm at:

-Patriot Stg 2 Heads
-Fabricated Valve Covers
-Mike Norris Catch Can
-Billet fuel rails
-Ported TB with epox mod
-ls6 valley
-Comp 273LR Cam 223/231 .607/.611 112LSA (Should be much nicer than the monster cam I had before)
-Ported ls6 oil pump
-Rebuilt t56 to stg 2
-Spec 6 puck stg 3+
-ABS delete
-AC delete
-Retro Style Tail lights (other thread)
-Stainless braided brake lines

I am waiting on my proportioning valve and stainless top end bolt kit to get here too. I also bought an Innovate MTX-L wideband that is sitting in my apt. Might get an aeroforce gauge as well.

Here's a panorama shot I took once I covered up all the ladies in the shop. Thought it turned out pretty sweet.

Got the last few small imperfections out. One more coat of primer then final blocking.

Guess I can update this

-Got the engine bay all painted
-Engine is pretty much put together
-Got my coil relocation bracket made
-Got konis on lower perch
-Installed stainless braided brake lines

Just need to re-install the trans on the motor, fill it up with fluid and run the wiring harness and the engine is all ready to go back in.

Painting a couple more parts too. Going to be nice to see everything come back together.

Here's some pics

Got some more done last night

Got coil relocation bracket installed. Found out I ordered the wrong coils so I don't have new coil packs now. So if anyone needs 8 brand new non heat sink truck coils pm me. Ran the spark plug wires and found out the MSD Build Your Own kit doesn't have the right connectors for our coil packs so I had to order them. Getting those tonight. Finished up the engine wiring harness except for my coil extensions that I am waiting on. Got the body harness in the bay all ran and started putting things back together.

Now for the pics

Left to do:
-Finish plug wires
-Drill holes and mount AC delete panel
-Finish painting lid and radiator support
-Redo front brake lines for ABS delete
-Get the braided brake lines in the back installed
-Install a bunch of ****

Quick Reply: So I had to pull the trans....
