Default Will rubbing alcohol hurt paint?

For my b-day my friend and brother put shoe polish on my windows while I was at school (SFASU). NICE Gift seeing how my car just came out of the paint shop a week before.

Anyway... I had to work that night and couldn't show up with the certain remarks they had wrote. I was forced to run by a car wash and spray it off.

Over the past weeks i've been working on it with no luck. There are little white flakes everywhere.

I went by the body shop and they told me to use bug and tar remover, So I tried a little. It works, but slowly. Went by Autozone and picked up a clay bar and it works but again very slowly. The guy at AZ told me to use rubbing alcohol. I put some in a spray bottle and it works like a charm, fast.

Now, I know its removing the wax, but is it going to harm my clear coat or paint??

Thanks.

No harm at all...in fact, it is used frequently in polishing to remove residues/fillers...

I use it a lot also to remove tree sap and stuff like that. Just remember to wash the surface and then wax when you're done.

rubbing alcohol mixed with water 50/50 is what most ppl use to remove wax from the car, so wax or no wax it should be fine to put on it. ive done it to my car before and its fine
