Meguiars products are easy to put on and take off for 'novices' as are most other products you can pickup @ Wal-Mart, Auto Zone, Advance, Napa etc. And they're fairly cheap and easy to obtain.
Zaino, Mezerna, Clear Kote, Griots Garage etc waxes and polishs all look good but take some patience to get right and cost a lil bit to obtain.

If "looks" is the most important and something you can get locally, you can't go wrong with Meguiars NXT, that's what I have been using for the past year and love it. You can get it pretty much anywhere too and that's a big plus to me.

I normally use a synthetic (recently switched to Tropicare from Zaino) as a bottom layer - for some added durability, then top with S100...

Turtle Wax Ultra Gloss, the best **** I've seen and used personally, leaves an amazing shine, so good, its Zaino....just zaino lasts longer.
Claybar, is used to remove things like tar off the paint of your car. Works pretty damn good too. Meguires, makes some good stuff. Check Murray's Autoparts, they have it there along with another brand that I haven't tried.

wax/polish
I have been using Turtle Wax 2001 Car Polish on my silver 99 now I have a black 01. After reading one thread I tried the Meguiers NXT wax......didn't like it so I have gone back to 2001 in the bright green bottle. It's a urethane car polish and leaves the best smoothest feeling shine and duribility I have found, besides it's cheap and easy to use. 2 things...I'm **** about my car and I live in Fla.

I've been using some Tropi-Care products lately. Kind of a Zaino knock-off. A little pricey, but pretty easy to use, and I get excellent results. If you're **** about your vehicles (like me), a lot of products do well because of the elbow grease!
