painted fast intake pics
Can I get some pics of painted fast intakes. I put one on my car but was really hoping to retain the stock look....or atleast a little more subtle than light grey. what did you use? how did you prep? what would you do different if you did it again.

Prep: Sanding, sanding, sanding. I filled in the factory fuel line crossover indentation and sanded off the FAST/WILSON logos.
Paint: Body shop layed down several coats of sandable primer, followed by base coat/clear coat...the color is BMW Black Sapphire Metallic.
Since this pic was taken, I switched to a Nick Williams TB. I wouldn't do anything differently if I did it again...

No the intake does not have to be sanded smooth for you to paint it. It is a whole lot more work but in my eyes definately worth it if you are going to bother to paint it anyways.

all those pieces look good. stryker Ive seen your work here before and it amazes me every time I look at it. Can I use a high temp rattle can paint or are those not going to hold up to engine temps and bubble off.
