Default Window tint question

I am getting my windows tinting and i am trying to decide if i should paint the inside where the dot matrix is or use vinly. I pretty close to using vinly but ever vinly place i go to says the don't think they can do it. There is one company says they might but there no for sure yet, but if i do vinyl do i put the vinyl on before or after i get my windows tinted?

If there are any other better solutions to tinting over the dot matrix i am ready for suggestions.

I had them tint over the Dot Matrix, I dont think it looks to bad really, cant even notice is. I painted the Dot Matrix on one of my other Camaros, and didnt really care too much. You could allways put a vinle sticker on the outside over the Matrix, and tint under it.

Putting vinly on the outside to me looks stupid, messes up the cars appreance. My bro has 96 bird and his windows are tinted and i can deffinetely notice the huge bubble across the back window.

Default Tint

I had my tint put over the matrix

It looked tacky at first, but now I'm used to it and it doesn't bother me as much

I hate the look of Vinyls as well, hence my car is sticker free.

i just wheeled out a friend of mines TA today at work and my boss tinted the back window.....i'd never put vinyl on the dot matrix, paint it, or leave it not tinted all together.

we just said down the dot matrix a little with with some wetsand 800 grit, then go over it with some 1500-2000 to knock some of the dots down. then tint over it and it seems to stick well.

key is let it sit in the sun for a while to let it dry up some and go over it with the back of your finger nail to push it out.

sometimes you'll still have a little bit of white where the tint didn't adhere well, but it looks way better then any other methods IMO

If you sand the dots won't you get scratches in the glass?

I sprayed the dot matrix on my window with flat black engine enamel.

IMO painting the matrix is definitley the best option.

i worried about spary oainting it cuase i doin't want it to run, or bubble later, and the fact that i am spraying paint inside my car doesn't sound like a good idea.

I had mine professionally done, and turned out very well. U cannot tell from a short distance. He had to work it, and work it, but overall I am pleased.....darkest available to conceal what's in the back!

Been on the car for 3 years now!

I kinda feel the same way. I think Ima just have a shop try and go right over it. Is there nothing they can put on the window first to make it adhere better?

Had mine done yesterday (finally). They tried to tint over the dots, but I wasn't happy with it. I had them put vinyl over that section. With 15% on the back, it looks perfect from the outside.

You tint the inside not the outside...

I'm considering having mine re-done with the vinyl.
