I have a question here, I have a 98 WS6 auto that I just put a 3200-3600 stall in, question is do I need a trans cooler or is the factory one enough. Car has aftermarket heads, cam, intake, throttle body, MAF, injectors, Headers, Exhaust, so it is not stock, just need to know if I need a tranny cooler before I try to drive it.

I'd say, get a trans cooler ASAP. The higher stall makes the tranny run hotter.

My trans temp gets to be about an average 200F in city driving with the aftermarket trans cooler. Think I am going to get another one or swap mine out for one with an automatic fan.

those trans coolers are CHEAP!! does anyone know the difference between those different types?

There are two basic types, the tube type and the plate type. The plate type are supposed to be more efficient. I personally prefer the B&M, although there are several other good brands out there. My 70264 does a good job with my 3400 stall, and keeps the temps under 200 even during hard runs in the middle of summer. It runs around $60.

That's not a bad deal...there are so many different types out there, I was looking on ws6store.com and they have a couple. Do you happen to know the BTU's that it puts out? I'm gonna be camming the car and putting in a 3200 stall and I need a good trans cooler, I have my 160* thermostat too to try and cool it a little.
