I believe that is a stock gm converter for a 4cyl or v-6 with an adapter plate & different nose welded on so it will fit a 700r4 or 4l60e. I believe the lockup clutch is pretty small, so they won't hold much power. This is a common way to get more stall speed for cheap, but they won't last very long. One of the sponsor converter companies like Circle D can probably confirm the details.

Really wow never heard of that! Thanks for the info I did see a identical looking converter with adapter plate on a website saying it was a high stall street strip converter or something maybe they just build up the 4 cyl converters. Ill fiind the site and post it.

You guys are correct. That is a 245MM GM FWD 4T60E converter that has been modified to fit a 4L60E. I will defiantly raise the stall because of the smaller diameter. But the problem is it uses the stock front cover and stock lock up clutch. It has a tiny clutch that is designed for ~150 HP that is even smaller then the stock clutch in your OE 4L60E converter. Not a good idea. This is the part that usually fails and will take out a trans with all the debris. Get something that has a billet front and a much larger lock up clutch, a little more money now but can save a few thousand if it takes out the transmission.

Your welcome. We also happen to sell the billet version that you need. Be happy to take care of you.
