Default Driving with a 5600 stall... vid inside

I've never seen any other vids of people running a real high stall like this on the street so here ya go. I'm running two of the 11x11 b&m supercoolers, temps have been in the 150 range on the street in 70 degree weather.

I drove around with a 5500 stall twice, it was unstreetable IMO with 4.10's and 28's...

The only thing unstreetable about this setup IMO is it is way too loud, and I only made it work and back 4 times (~120 miles) on 16 gallons of E85. I'm still working on the part throttle tuning, and I'll probably get it up to about 9 mpg combined. But it buzzes 4k on the freeway going 60-65mph. I'm actually suprised it's running as cool as it is, given it's a spragless converter. Kinda goes against all the converter companies' comments on spragless coverters on the street.

Accel DFI Gen 7. So far I like the system... real-time tuning, auto-correction for the VE table from the wideband input, and probably the most transient fueling options among all the aftermarket EFI setups. The datalogging is pretty good. You can view a datalog file on the VE table, and with the displayed A/F correction factor it makes it real easy to dial it in.

Good video. I was just taken back to street driving my LS1 with a 5500. Sure was fun. Mine was very driveable as well. I loved it. Can't wait to see what a BBC infront of a 5500 stall is all about.

Shame it sounds better than the LSx engines with similar mods? Yup. Then again, this ain't exactly the 275hp reverse-cooled 23* head engine that came in the car either.

Ditto on a lot of stall and a lot of gear. Great to see it behaving well on the street. My 5k stall/TH400/4.10 gear/spool combo rides decent around on the street, but it too is loud and attracts a lot of unwanted attention.

Hard to explain away that the car has recent tags, ET Streets/skinnies, no cats, long tube headers/race muffler, roll bar and a 5" tach on the dash. Sure officer, it's a street car, and no, please don't look under the hood
