Default Converter question:

I am currently running a VIG 3200 stall. My car is a cam only with stock 3.23 gears. I am asking guys that have done a swap of this sort or someone that may know. What gains, if any, do you see when going from a Vig 3200 to a Yank SS4000 without doing any other mods. Track times before and after would be nice to see. Its a lot of money to spend if no one is noticing any difference when switching between stalls. Thanks in advance.

the vig is probly higher than advertised so the swap would probly be compairable to a ss3600 vs ss4000. Im guessing you will gain around .2 in the whole 1/4 mile if the vig in fact acts like a ss3600. but if the vig is really a 3200 or so then you will gain more. theres lots of variables but if 1/4 mile time is your goal then make the swap. do you have 1/4 mile stats from the vig?

with decent da and traction you should break 11s for sure with a ss3600 imo

What was DA with the vig?

I was at the track a lot last year, so not sure on each day. But i know on average it was well over 2800 and even close to 3500.

Well I think you answered your own question with that statement. Get the ss4000
Thats a pretty damn high DA and im willing to bet you would be pretty close to 11s right now if you ran in good DA. My car (01 ss mods in sig stock stall) did 13.19 in 2000+DA and 12.6 in -1000 DA. DA makes a big difference.

I ran a 11.68 @ 116 with a fuddle 2800 and a 224 cam 1.70 60'

swapped to a vig 3600 ran a 11.569 @ 116 spinning 1.64 60'....

Can you have vig reflash it for free? call them, or see what it would cost to go 3600, also I would get 3.73's

3.73's and a 3600 stall are a killer combo for street cars, a 4000 will fell a little bit muddy normal driving in town, but may yeild .1-.2 better at the track

I would go 3.73's 3600 vig, and get a better cam, I gained 40rwhp from my 224 cam to my 232/234 cam, still gets same mpgs on the highway
