revlimiter issue?
ok guys, ive been through 3 4l60s in the past few months, and i finally got a decent one under there, i think.
let me explain my problem
at the track it shifts first to second hard no problems....2nd to 3rd it just slaps the rev limiter over and over, its not slipping, normal driving it shifts fine and WOT from a decent roll it shifts 2nd to 3rd just fine...
and the shift point is set at like 6000 for 2nd to 3rd, but yet it slaps the rev limiter at like 6800. idk if i have a tune issue, converter issue, or trans issue
any help?

I've been having the same issue with mine too... A buddy of mine told me that if the maf is dirty, then it can screw with shift points...
I don't know though...
If anyone else could help that would be cool too haha..

It's common to have either a tie up or a flare on the 2-3.
Someone needs to get the right friction material and clutch count in the 3-4 and set the clearance right, adjust the 2nd servo travel, adjust the seperator plate hole sizes.

It's the mechanical timing between the second servo kicking off and the 3-4 clutch coming on.

Mine is stock with a tune and the first time today I took to track and it's bouncing off limiter and won't go into 3rd gear until like 5 hits - sucks... I was told by a friend could be line pressure if you had it increased - I did.

I am having the same problem as we speak. I have been through 2 trans in 1 year and I have my Trans press. boosted.
At the track
1st to 2nd shifts fine
2nd to 3rd bounces off rev limiter 5 times then shifts
Now my trans is starting to slip all the time going into 3rd gear.
Also when I am in 4th just cruising and kick it down to 3rd it slips really bad, like i have a stall.
I'm not trying to Hi Jack, just telling my relating story.
