Default Looking for vid of yank 3400-3800 stall or other brand 3400-3800 stall

Looking to see an acceleration vid from your 3400-3800 stall so I can compare my shift extension. I can't seem to find any vids anywhere.

Here is my example. When my car shifts from 2nd-3rd my rpm's drop to 4700rpm.

What size and speed is your stall currently? What is your shift rpm? What is your rear gear?

Mine is a 3400 circle d. I think my shift points are set at like 6200 rpm. With 3.23's

You are shifting at 6200 or your rev limiter is 6200. This is important to know because you cannot trust the stock tach.

Shift points are set at 6200. Rev limiter is set at like 6400-6500. I would have to look at my tune sheet

I gotcha. I would say shift extension looks about where it should be. My old Edge 3200 dropped from 6200 to about 4800 with 3.73s (based on the tach). My Yank drops about 1k, from about 64 to 54 (based on HPTuners logs). After discussing my combo, Dave at Yank said this was right where I wanted it to be, so I'm satisfied.

Here's a vid of the edge:

You also had a cam to right? I am kinda wishing i went with a little bigger stall cuz I plan on running a 228r with it. If I shift the 228r at 6400rpm That should lift the extension to about 4900 rpm?

Those vids were with a TR224 cam. Yes, the higher you shift the shift extension should stay the same. So if my Yank drops from 64 to 54, I have about 1k shift extension. If I start shifting at 6k then it will go back to 5k. Its kind of a fixed difference between the 2 numbers. Stock converters will have a bigger number, aftermarket converters will close the gap. Understand this, you can have too little of shift extension. That means like having 500 rpm extension sounds great but in reality will probably make your car slower. Thats what is commonly referred to as blowing through the converter.

What you said there makes sense, but I don't think I'm anywhere close to that do you? I would think a 4k stall would be better with the 228r?

My old Vig 3200(true stalled around 3600) shifting at 6500 shift extension was a little to much droppin down to 4700-4800ish. My SS4000 shifting at 6500, drops down to 5300-5400 and pulls SO much harder than the Vig did.

Oh yes, 4k would be a blessing on a 228 cam. I'm currently running a 228/232 and the powerband is fantastic. As far as my E.T.s, its got 11.50s all day full weight, stock suspension/wheels, cam/bolt ons only. That's a combo that's working IMO.

i might think about getting it restalled. Probablly not though. I don't really want to pull the tranny again. What 60ft are you cutting?

You dropped 7 tenths off your 1/4 with the circle D converter, obviously its working pretty damn well, why you stressing out so much about your shift extension?

Cuz I want the big cam im going to put in it to be in the powerband when it shifts. It bugs me when I think it could have been faster if I did something different lol. Plus I wanna see what people's 3600 stalls are going down to so I can compare
