need some advice on stall size and brand
Ive been looking at a yank ss 3200 or a circle d 3400 stall. I dont want to go to high on the stall my car is a everyday driver and dont want to kill mpg but wanting to complement my mods im doing. I dont do alot of racing but i would like the power to be there when i do race any advice would be appreciated. The mods im doing are ported ls6 heads, cam, tsp lt, tsp catted y, magnaflow catbak, and debating between fast 90/nw90 setup or ls6 intake big difference i know trying to work out a deal on the 90/90. I still have stock 10 bolt and gears will upgrade when it goes.

Crappy quality video of a big cam and Circle D 4,300 behaving nice and docile:
If I drove my car everyday, I could deal with that no problem. Just make sure your trans cooling equipment is up to the task.

I had a vigilante 3200 stall. Was a good stall. Great for driving around. Then i swapped to a circle D 5C which is a 4000-4200 stall and it was 10x better overall. And it still drove like a 3200.
Honestly dont go smaller than 3800 imo.. But give Circle D a call

I bought one out of the classifieds because I'm pushing a really tight timeline, but after talking with Chris the other day (who picked up on the first ring) I will gladly give Circle D my business next time. Class act.

i have has three stall in my car before i was happy.1rst one was a revmax 3200.2nd was a revmax 3600. and finally i went with Performance Torque converter of Texas 4000 nitrous stall. it does feel a tad bit looser ,but not much and i also have that seat of the pants feeling when i punch it.the stall is everything. i wouldnt go under 3600.especially if you plan on a cam anytime soon.

I have a Question
I run a 1992 s-10 355, My first combanation was 410 gear and 240 250 duration cam 2700 converter ran low 11s no problem I went to 488 gear and by comp recomendation I went to a 2200 stall keep in mind i did drive on the street and truck went high 10s ,now I have a 99 z28 with bbk 85 intake and tb LTs and true duels 228 230 comp cam and comp recomendid I use 2500 converter. So I got 2800 Im running mid 11s with this combo and that is with 410 gears the only thing i notice is that when converter locks up it saves me alot of gas well what im trying to figure out is comp says, which is the way ive allways thought for the last 25 years the stall is for pulling you up to where the cam makes power and if you go to big you flash past useable power with a lower gear you need less stall but everybody on hear says, or at least some keep saying the ls1 flows more air so it needs more stall and comp also told me above 3000 converter you need a transbrake to benifit from it. This place has got me confused I just know my 2800 stall z is faster then my buddys 4000 stall simmiler cammed firebird Im happy with the 2800 in my setup. I was just wondering when you started needing a 4000 converter for a stock motor or vary mild camed car they dont even tell you you need one till after the 228 cam on the cam specs.

It depends on the size of your cam (bigger cams usually need a 3000+ stall), but seeing as it's a DD, I'm assuming you're not throwing a gigantic cam in the car. 3600 stall is probably about the best middle ground. Any smaller and you might kick yourself for not going bigger. Any bigger and you might lose some driveability (depends on the tune, I've seen plenty of guys running 4000+ with no problem).
As far as brands, Yank, Circle D, FTI, Precision Industries (VIG), hard to go wrong with any of them. I went with Circle D for mine, waiting to get it installed on the 23rd. Just remember that with a stall, it's good insurance to get an aftermarket transmission cooler too.

I went from a 2800 Vigilante (cracked) to a 3600 Circle D and never looked back. I daily drive mine and don't notice any differance in mpg. It has been a great stall and Circle D was great to work with. I will use them again if I ever need another one.

That one should be fine for you, but keep in mind that one does not come with the fittings and hardware to install it, it's just the cooler itself. I believe the biggest B&M currently offered that has the install kit with it is the 70264 (14,400 BTU / 24k GVW)
