SFI flywheel with bolts $175ish
Dipstick $100
Rebuild kit $200 thereabouts
Torque converter $1,022
Driveshaft $300
Crossmember with torque arm mount $260
Shifter $300
Just say about $2500, and this is a Th400 if you build it yourself. If you have a welder....you can't knock the cost of the Crossmember down.

I don't think it would be that kind of money. What tranny did you have in mind? 4L80....400?

If you have a garage, I would recommend getting a 4L80e core.....and do the job yourself. You can save a lot of coin that way. And no, there aren't a bunch of special tools needed to do the job.

Tear it apart....ask questions later. There will be people, mainly company reps that will try to discourage you from doing your own work...by throwing the safety word around. But disregard them, simple tools are needed such as picks which can be had at harbor freight for $4.00. Only specialty tool that's nice to have is a retainer compressor, other than that.....you can do your own tranny build. Ask questions on here....and watch YouTube videos, if you have any mechanical know how I have faith that you can do it.

I'm in the middle of my th350 swap, it's only going to end up costing me a couple hundred dollars, bought the tranny with a brake and converter from a friend. Sold my t56, if I hadn't sold it would be costing me around 2000 to do the swap.

im rebuilding my own 4l80e and its simple. also doing a jakes d3 brake. there really are no special tools needed other than the spring compressor which is 30 bucks. i went ahead and got a cheep 60 dollar bushing driver set also to make things easier. the biggest thing to pay attention to is the piston rod lengths on the servos there is plently of detailed information an even videos on how to do them. this is my first one and it seems easy i broke tans apart in about 1 hour. i will document the full build and swap on here so people will have more information.

this is how my breakdown went

$500 Used 4l80e (needed)
$1000 billet triple disk Converter (about 750 if you go single)
$850 Jakes d3 brake (not needed if you dont want it)
$150 Used Speartech Harness
$1000 Jakes stage 3 rebuild kit (cheeper transgo 2 kit is good alternative)
$100 sfi flywheel (needed i dont recommend using a stock one)
$200 Trans mount (not needed if you fab your own
$350 Trans cooler, lines, fittings, Yoke (all needed
$400 TCI outlaw Shifter (stock one can be had for cheeper and works)
$$$$$ Driveshaft? sometimes stock one works sometimes it dont, at minimum you need a conversion u joint for the yoke

I made about 2200 back selling my t56 tick master and mgw shifter

thats just parts with me doing all the work. i went a little overboard and built mine to handle 1000hp. you can do a transgo rebuild for a fraction of that and be good to 750hp. the small stuff does add up. you will also need a segment swap done and a Tune.
