I am getting a TC installed next weekend. Do you have to Break-in a TCI SSF3500??? If you do what is the required break-in time, etc.

you need to lock it up and unlock it 50 times iirc. every time you press on the brakes it unlocks, just drive around for an hour mixed city or hit the brakes and watch her unlock and lock. thats what i was told

I was told by the guy who did my install to drive 125 miles, and then you ready to romp on it.

I just waited till the day after I got mine. I had to drive over 100 miles home, then to and from work that night. I figure if you go 125+ miles, 50+ lock cycles, and one full heat cycle you should be covered.

Yep, that's what I did with my old TC and it worked GREAT.

After that long of an install you just can't hold back.

I agree, no break-in period for a torque converter. Also no break-in for a rebuilt automatic. Break-in is really a metalugic necessity for new hardened parts, like gears. Proper heat-cycling when new will prolong life by hardening the metal. No such consideration in a torque converter, the bearings are already hardened.
